Find Relevant Posts on X and Reddit: My SaaS Marketing Workflow

Watch on YouTube (opens in a new tab)

About this video

I show how I find posts on X and Reddit that are relevant to my product, then write replies to join those conversations. The useful part of this setup is saving searches as bookmarks and adjusting the filters when I revisit them. On X, I change minimum likes and post age. On Reddit, I use a custom browser plugin to filter scores, comments, and duplicate posts. I also show how I use AI to polish a reply I wrote myself. This is a workflow I have used to get 750+ followers and 80k+ impression posts. So, hello everyone. And welcome to this video where I will show you how I do my app marketing and distribution by commenting posts on Reddit and X that are relevant to my product. So, the biggest problem with the with SaaS and apps that you're building right now is the distribution. Everyone is building apps. Everyone can can build them in a day, but how can you make your users discover you? The one way to do it is to find the people who are already discussing about it in social media. For example, for my application here, I have um I am I'm finding signals online and then generating business ideas about it. So, there are um people looking for new business ideas and how to validate their business idea daily all over the internet. But they they they necessarily cannot find your product. So, how can you bring your product to them? And uh yeah, here I will show you my workflow. Like it's one of my workflows that I've been trying right now. And it's free and uh I I don't have any specific numbers on the results, but I'm sure that I will get more visibility by it because I can talk to people. I can tell my application name, suggest it, and you could you could probably have some some some lists here. You can browse like you can create lists of people who are talking about this. But an easier way would be to to search search already these keywords. And see and and then you can just go to straight to the posts like so we can we can search for validate business idea. Like this is a random query. Let's try if if we find something. Well now here people is already speaking about it. This one is is from April the 28th. So this is obviously in in in today's age where the trends come and go in a few days then replying to this one is is probably not very useful for us. But here if you see like three things I'd validate before spending three months building a startup. That's the problem hurt. Well well this is something that we could reply to. And there are other posts here. So we can look at the first post here. One thing I have is this X editor. It will suggest me better options. So let's I speak them. I'll speak the answer to this person. I like >> [clears throat] >> that that's you are thinking about validating the idea before building. Normally people just jump in and and start building something that has been developed 10 times before already. So I can press suggest edits. And it will use GPT sold to suggest me like some some alternatives like clearer, shorter, more engaging. Well, yeah, it it it it made some uh like grammar fixes or I don't know, make it make it more clearer. Like normal people like it's it's just most people. And okay, we can reply to this guy. This is, of course, not the very interesting reply. There's there's no new info there. This is just an example how how we could we could write the reply here. And normally, if you if you then check if you if you find me, then it would suggest relevant people here as well. And then if people are reading the comments here, then they would see me and my my profile here that I have the trend seeker app there, and they could come in and uh see the website. Anyway, this of course, it gets repetitive if you if you're searching the same queries all the time. And so, a good idea would be to have the the queries bookmarked. So, I have like people looking for a tool, micro SaaS ideas, customer pain points, manual workflows, and workarounds, side hustle. So, so, all of these queries are relevant. So, people are validating idea. This one we searched. And let's see, people looking for a tool. This is normally something uh that uh gives uh interesting tweets here. The good thing about this uh this bookmarks variant is that uh if you look at the x.com queries, then you can see that uh it is a long query, but you can add the URL parameters here like um like min faves, since live. So, this means that the min five faves is uh dislikes. And these these are useful to toggle as well. So, and then the yeah, post dates as well, as I said. So, how how you do it is potentially bookmark every every query you would like. Uh maybe min likes three, min likes 10, and post dates uh uh for 1 week, and then change this around. But, here it's very simple to just change it here. Let's put it to six, and then go. And and you can see we we get um uh posts with more likes. So, there's a balancing act with the with the likes and with more likes and less likes, because if you have uh bigger impressions for the post, then it's it means it's harder for you to stand out with your your comment. But, if the algorithm picks it up, then you have a potential uh for uh for for bigger reach. Because if it's a post with only three likes, then you will potentially reach like 10 to 20 people who will read the post and its comments. I have this set up also for Reddit. What's more, uh but Reddit has one one special use case here was if you see it it the it just has the same zero votes, zero comments that that I'm not interested about. And there's also there's normally a lot of duplicate posts that I didn't see right now. MicroSaaS ideas, maybe this one. Uh yeah, yeah maybe this one. How how do you promote your MicroSaaS? How do you promote your MicroSaaS? So we would want to omit this. Uh this post here. But if you look at the query parameters, then you only have the sorting option, but you don't have the min votes and min comments. So for this one I I wrote a plugin so we can have a search filter. Uh so minimum score, minimum comments. So uh yeah, you you can already see right now it's So the first post, it was zero zero votes. Then the plugin here triggered and removed the irrelevant posts here. And yeah, otherwise for for Reddit, the workflow is is the same. People looking for a tool, for example. Zero votes. Let's see and let's put the plugin on. Minimum score two, let's go. Yeah and then you can see you can you can get uh the minimum votes here for your products. This is a portfolio split across three brokerages and a spreadsheet. I stopped updating in March. Is there an app that actually handles this. And and this is where I'm at with the public outreach currently. Uh I've been trying emails, but it it's very hard to find emails because if you look at the public profiles there, you don't have any emails there. I tried private messaging. This can also work, but I think there are quite strict rules about it. So, I wouldn't recommend private messaging and starting advertising your app too hard. Um You you might do like start a conversation first and then after a few messages, try to Mhm. Try to send your product name and and ask whether they're interested in. But people can feel quite disappointed when they realize that you're not a real person and and are trying to sell them something. Okay, as a as a final thought, I I think I should also mention this uh the web browser I'm using that that allows this uh bookmarks with this custom query parameters and and Reddit plugin. And and by the way, it's it's completely open-source web browser, so you can create your own plugins for your own website and ask the AI to uh create the plugin and then plug it in and then you can modify the website and remove irrelevant content for you. And bring up the the more more important posts. And yeah, this app is then bmx.cc. And yeah, I created this, so and I'm discovering new new workflows for it. And yeah, you can just download it, install it to to your computer in Mac OS, Windows, and Linux. And and and start using this browser for your distribution outreach. And if you have any questions or suggestions, I'm completely open to them. I'm I'm interested in in your workflows as well. What has worked for you and what has not? Where where have you uh gotten banned from and for what? And and what should other people watch out for then uh then if you want to share this information, then just write it in the comments. And and let's help each other in the in the marketing field. Okay. Have a good day and bye for now.
