bmux Sessions and Bookmarks: My Browsing Workflow
About this video
I use bmux sessions to switch between projects and find open tabs, then organize bookmarks by profile and edit saved searches before opening a website. I start with the bookmark issues I found on Trend Seeker, show my actual browsing workflow, and explain the current limit: bookmark search does not search the contents of saved web pages. The rental search is an example of changing saved URL parameters. bmux: https://bmux.cc Trend Seeker: https://trend-seeker.app Chapters 0:00 My browsing workflow and Trend Seeker issues 1:07 Sessions 1:55 Keyboard navigation 2:39 Last access and session cleanup 3:45 Bookmarks and profiles 5:00 Search bookmark folders 5:35 Save and reorder bookmarks 6:36 What bookmark search cannot do How do you organize your browser projects and bookmarks? #bmux #BrowserWorkflow #Bookmarks #DevTools

Hello everyone, today I want to talk about my browsing workflows, how I manage my bookmarks, how I manage my sessions, my previous pages that I've been browsing and how do I switch between contexts. I thought of making this video after looking at some Trend Seeker issues here that people are asking for, for example how to actually use Linkwarden, where people save links but they don't understand how to use it. I have also had this problem that I save a lot of bookmarks and before I was using Brave or Chrome and everything kind of got lost and the navigation between the bookmarks wasn't easy at all and this is what I solve with bmux and I use it every day and navigating the bookmarks is a lot easier. And this is already showing you my solution for the problem is having this clear session view so you don't have separate windows open but you have a single window and you can toggle between sessions very fast and if you are looking for something, for example I was building something so I can just search for GitHub and it finds all of the GitHub folders and I can just press it and it goes to here. I can just search YouTube and then go to this session here where I am uploading my tonisdev videos and you can see it says the session here and this session then has all of the tabs for my UGC videos and while in a session I can use command brackets to navigate between tabs, go to left, go to right and also use the command parenthesis to move the tabs around and back and if I go to the session view then I can also, you can see I have the Vim mode here so I can quickly browse down, browse down, I can press the 9 for example and press J and it goes to the post IG, post IG here so I don't have to write anything in, if I see something on the list I can immediately go to them. So for example if I go to my general purpose session here and I can see I already have quite a lot of tabs here, but if I go to the session view then I can see that on the right side here we have the timestamp on when it was last accessed, some of my bmux workflows are already week old so these I can probably just close here that I have already completely forgotten what are these about and I can close these sessions here. So as you can see and you can create a new session here and then to start the new session and I can use the prefix key and the dollar sign to rename the session like demo session and I can start browsing here. So we can open bookmarks with a key binding as well, I currently set it to command B. As you can see we can have bookmarks for a single profile, so this is one way you could separate your bookmarks, so you could have different bookmarks for different profiles, so for example I have personal and professional bookmarks are separate, so professional maybe I was looking to rent a condo here and I have different searches available here, and as well you can see I'm searching for a condo here, but I can already set the minimum and max price here, so before searching I don't even have to go to the website, so this is very convenient, I can set my budget is 30,000 Baht to 50,000 Baht in my dreams if I was so rich, but let's search it then, and you can see it finds the apartments over 30,000 Baht, and since we saw the professional before this went to the top and now the personal bookmarks are at the bottom. As you can see also here the Vim key bindings are available, so I'm pressing K and J to navigate, to search I can press the slash and I can for example search X TSKR and I can go immediately to the folder here, and if I want to search for rent, I can as well search for rent and it goes immediately to the folder, and now adding bookmarks, we can just go to a page here, like a new homes maybe, and then open the bookmarks and then press plus and then here are all the folders here available and you can save your bookmark normally. You can also reorder the bookmarks here, so if you had for example you like the park 24 condo more, you can move that to the top and maybe you want to look for a condo in Rawai, you can move that to the top as well, and as well you can see all of the query parameters available so you can conveniently change them here, and you can open in the same tab or in a new tab. How do you save your web research without your bookmarks becoming a graveyard? We all do a lot of web searching for our work studies or hobbies, you find a great explanation, read it and move on, but then later you need exact information again and have to hunt it down from scratch. Well, this problem we don't solve in bmux, so I might implement it this later, so the person is saving bookmarks, but you only have a title here for the bookmark, you cannot search the content of the bookmark. I hope you found this overview of my workflow useful, if you like these videos also remember to subscribe and like to support me, and I'll see you in the next one, thanks and bye bye!
